We both drink water, though you more than me.

On the open sea, there's more than plenty scurvy.

I don't know everything, though I do know how much I don't.

I, too, disliked my Captain once, and you're getting cocky.

Once you correct me right, you're better than me

Until then, you're as wrong as wrong can be.

I don't know how gravity looks like, though Newton did say

I know how tides work, and I'm happy for any buoyancy.

That's enough to get on a ship, and go on my way

On the far, open sea.

I don't know the Americas, nor the Indias

Just give me a map, and you'll see what you need

Then I will know the Americas, the Indias,

And you will be happy you trusted me.

I don't know war. I don't have cannons, I don't have soldiers.

I heard Horatio Nelson beat Charles of Pierre;

I always liked his hat, but I was resting on the pier.

If you served either of them, let me know!

I could use your talent, and I'll pay well too.

Life is cruel, and up to the sea's whimsy.

I will do my best to be kind to you, scrubby,

And maybe you will be kind to me one day.

I am bigger than you, and smaller than the sea

I just have a ship, like the Captains before me.

I have scars, because I have seen the midnight sea,

And lived to tell the tale. I know true beauty,

I am not afraid to live again - there's always more

For those who dare to visit the sea.

I live with people who drink water, and at night

I like the food, the drinks and my people.

Whenever they drink water, I smile,

Because I am a Captain of the Sea.
