Are you hiring Samurai in the age of AI?

From NetrunnerDB.

Me: Do you want to know how Yoga, Computer Science and Reality are related? If Reality is truth, and Truth is God, then it's possible that information science is actually god science.

Interviewer: Not right now. Sorry. How is that leetcode easy coming along? I have only 10 minutes left.

Me: Even if I can condense reality into this conversation?

Interviewer: I don't know what you mean, but, recursion is an important concept, and we do look for fast coding skills.

Me: I don't know if I can code recursion in 10 minutes, but I can repeat what I am saying until your reality has the condensation of my claim, including this sentence.

Interviewer: Sorry?

Me: I was saying that I don't know if I can code what you want in 10 minutes, but I can repeat what I am saying until your reality has the condensation of my previous statement, including this sentence.

Interviewer: We are running out of time, do you have any more questions?

Me: Do you see that I don't know if I can code what you want in 10 minutes, but I can repeat what I am saying until your reality has the condensation of my previous, previous statement, previous statement, and this sentence?

Interviewer: You are using recursion to continually refer to the base case of condensing reality, and every time I speak what you don't want to hear, the base case is not met.

Over time, as I keep speaking, you will increment the number of sentences, forever, always hoping for a base case reference, so this routine can end, keeping track of those sentences by changing the 'previous' word, creating an infinite linked list.

The base case is my reality matching your reality, where you want to explain your claim.

Correct?

Me: Yes! 🤯

I can't code it in 10 minutes, but I understand the concept of recursion in computer science.

Recursion is continual self reference. For it to be useful, the stack of calls need to eventually become smaller, until only few "obvious" cases are left.

Those obvious cases can be hard coded, like the first 3 terms in the Fibonacci Sequence, since every sequence begins with 0, 1 and 1.

Here, the base case is, in fact, whether you agree to listen to my claim, or no.

So instead of calculating the first N terms in the Fibonacci Sequence I am going to talk about my base case......forever.

Assuming a thought is a complete unit in the human mind, then an emotionally charged thought can become endlessly recursive.

For example, the relationship between Yoga, Computer Science and Reality is interesting to me, but that interest has nothing to do with coding recursion, which is what you want.

I wonder if this is the problem with machine learning too, where incorrect perceptions take the place of emotionally charged statements, creating ChatGPT's hallucinations. 🤔

But, hopefully, you now know I know recursion - and that I can explain this to people, make them laugh, and code, but I need 20 minutes.

I can't do it in 10 minutes.

Interviewer: Do you want to work here, based on low coding speed, and a joke?

Me: Yes! Don't you?

Jokes are fun.

Interviewer: OK.....I don't know if that is a good idea, but I can repeat my question until you can code recursion in 10 minutes, like the other candidates.

Me: If I must.

Who knows what the human mind can accomplish, in the remaining seconds of the interview.....I can try, do you have 5 more minutes?

Interviewer: I was saying that I don't know if it was a good idea, but I can repeat my question until you can code recursion in 9 minutes, like the other candidates.

Me: ....

Interviewer: Just kidding, you are hired. 🙂

Me: Do you see that I don't know if I can code what you want in 10 minutes...

Interviewer: Please shut up and take the job 🙏
