Is a place of understanding the starting of our journey, or the culmination of it?

It would be nice if we always started from a place of understanding.

In reality, I think we start from a place of false understanding, only to realize the meaning of true understanding, through genuine struggle.

In the last possible epiphany, the process of understanding, and the understanding of the subject of study, collapse into one concept.

Then, the process of understanding is cast away, with the latest concept as a seed for future endeavors of understanding.

here, growth is cast away.

If my understanding is right, then despite understanding learning, we always wrongly understand, until we realize we were wrong the first time, and right the second time.

In other words, the process of understanding unfolds backwards with respect to causality.

We push an apple off the table, to watch it fall. Pushing comes first; additionally, no pushing, no falling.

Newton starts with ignorance, assuming knowledge, and then realizes the reverse; what specifically he didn't know.

Once he knows what he didn't know, he realizes what he should know, which by definition, couldn't have existed during his time of ignorance.

Then he truly understands falling - not just for apples, but for humans, and that possibly, resisting falling enough, gives rocket science.
